What is Thanks, We Hate It?
Thanks, We Hate It is a weekly correspondence on life and writing in very hate-able times. It will make its way to your email inbox every Wednesday morning, alternating writers (and perspectives!) each week. In the process of writing about the things we do and do not hate, opening up our once-insular discussions will hopefully allow ourselves and others to feel less alone during these isolating and (sorry in advance!) unprecedented times.
Thanks, We Hate It is a space for freeform writing—anything from essays, op-eds, reviews, and recipes to creative writing (if we’re feeling nasty). It also features “Things We Don’t Hate,” a round-up of foods, music, books, activities, places, podcasts, films, TV shows, video games, quotes, intrusive thoughts, what-have-you that kept us company that given week.
We are Anna Rodriguez & Haley McNiff, platonic partners in life and writing. Anna Rodriguez recently finished her master’s in Media and Communications (aka she’s unemployed lol) and is a fan of well-made cookbooks, bars with dancefloors, and waking up in new cities. Haley McNiff is a poet who works in scientific journals publishing in Minneapolis, Minnesota and loves art museums, jaywalking, curating extensive Spotify playlists, and using the Oxford Comma.
Please subscribe (it’s free!) and correspond with us! You’re more than welcome to crash with us in this shared space indefinitely while we navigate living and writing in tandem in a world that feels excessively hate-worthy as of late.
